Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS) has Pro Bono Opportunities throughout its coverage area. We are currently looking for Pro Bono Attorneys for the following projects:

 

 

Northshore Pro Bono Project

This is our longest standing Pro Bono Project. This year it is celebrating its 10th Anniversary. Volunteer attorneys represent clients in St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington parishes in family law, wills, bankruptcies, successions, and other general civil litigation matters. We currently have several special projects in this area such as the Volunteers for Veterans, Wills for Heroes, Washington Parish Self-Help Desk, helping Reentry Court participants, and other outreach events. Low Income Tax Payer Clinic (LITC)

Volunteers work closely with SLLS staff to help low-income families with federal tax controversies in this statewide project. Disaster Response Project

Currently, there are volunteer opportunities to help disaster victims of the 2016 Floods of Greater Baton Rouge. Current opportunities involve title clearing and successions work. Self-Help Desks

Veteran’s Project

SLLS is looking for volunteers to help represent low-income Veterans with discharge upgrades, public benefits, such as Social Security disability benefits and other civil legal matters.
