Directing Attorney of the SLLS Baton Rouge Office

 

Talya J. Bergeron is the Directing Attorney at Southeast Louisiana Legal Services in the Baton Rouge Office. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University and received a Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center. Prior to her new role, Talya served as a Staff Attorney and a Managing Attorney in the Family Law Unit at SLLS.

She is committed to serving the underrepresented members of society and survivors of domestic abuse. Talya is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, in which she serves on the Access to Justice Committee and the Children’s Law Committee. Additionally, she serves as a committee member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, Pro Bono Committee, the Law Day Committee, and the Volunteer Committee.

Prior to these affiliations, Talya served as the President of the Board of Southeast Advocates for Empowerment (SAFE), an organization that assists survivors of Domestic Abuse. Additionally, she has served as the First Vice-President of the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society of the Greater Baton Rouge community.
