Loyola’s SLLS 50th Anniversary CelebrationPosted on: September 1, 2018
“There’s no such thing as a solo act. Social justice is a team effort.” – Prof. Bill Quigley
In October 2018, Loyola University New Orleans College of Law hosted the finale of a year-long series of events to commemorate SLLS’ 50-year history. Prof. Quigley’s words spoke volumes to all who attended and the conversations the panelists had at each of our events supports just how true his words are. From legal aid attorneys like those of us at SLLS who’ve committed their entire lives to working for vulnerable people, to our brothers and sisters from the private bar who volunteer their time and expertise to increase access to justice, to judicial self-help desks and other programs to help pro se litigants, and to the law school legal clinics who are molding the next generation of social justice advocates – all of our work is vital in the fight for fairness.
Thanks to all of the law schools, the 50th anniversary committee members, and all of the generous sponsors who made our year-long series of events possible. We look forward to continuing the fight for fairness with you – defending the rights of low-income families and vulnerable people for 50 More Years.
