SUMMARY:Wills for Veterans
DESCRIPTION:In honor of Veterans’ Day\, Southeast Louisiana Legal Services\, with funding from the Bob Woodruff Foundation and with special thanks to the New Orleans VA Medical Center\, is hosting a Free Wills for Veterans Event.  \nPre-registration and Intake Required Oct. 7- 11\, 2024. \nTo pre-register\, please call 504-529-1000 ext. 250 or email Wills4Veterans@slls.org during the week of October 7-11\, 2024. Up to 50 participants will be accepted. Participation is open to Veterans\, their spouses\, widow/ers\, their household family members\, and their caregivers. Priority will be given to Veterans whose income is at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines.   \nOnce registered\, participants will discuss their needs with a licensed attorney who will prepare their Last Will & Testament for free to help protect their assets and wishes. Participants will sign and receive their wills in person on November 15\, 2024\, at the New Orleans VA Medical Center\, 2400 Canal Street\, New Orleans\, LA 70119\, Research Room.
