SLLS Eviction Help Desk is seeking Attorney Volunteers to Defend Tenants in Baton Rouge City Court

Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS) seeks local attorneys to join the front line in the fight against homelessness in our community by assisting low-income tenants facing eviction at Baton Rouge City Court. Through our Eviction Help Desk, volunteer attorneys provide free, same-day representation to those in need—helping to stabilize housing for vulnerable families. We are currently seeking volunteers for Tuesday and Thursday mornings (9 AM – 12 PM) and will provide all necessary training, guidance, and materials. An SLLS attorney is always onsite with you.

Why volunteer?

  • Hands-on courtroom experience
  • Mentorship & Training from experienced housing law attorneys
  • Earn CLE credit while making a real impact
  • Flexible scheduling—volunteer as your availability allows
