About Southeast Louisiana Legal Services

Who We Are

For over 50 years, Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS) has given a voice to people who struggle to obtain the legal help they need to move forward in life because they can’t afford an attorney.

The free legal help we provide plays a critical role in stabilizing families and communities. There are many challenges that can only be solved with the help of a lawyer. Our work breaks down legal barriers so that low-income people can access safety, housing, income, education, medical care, and so much more.

In all that we do, SLLS strives to make fair and equal access to justice possible for the people who need it most.

Mission

To achieve justice for low-income people in Louisiana by enforcing and defending their legal rights through civil legal aid, advocacy, and community education.

Vision

A society in which equal justice for all is a reality.
